Somnia

Argyle Dipped Tops - comes in 8 colours

Dipped  Tops - comes in 6 colours

Barely There Tops - comes in 9 colours

Weave Tops - comes in 5 colours

Somnia  isn't a new store, just a re branding but everything has improved. I always loved the things from this store (used to be Dreams) but I never thought they made the most of showing the designs. Now the name  has changed, posters have changed and the colour of the store has also changed. It  really is amazing how much difference this has made. The designs have always been cute, well made and well priced. Great job Sanura and good luck.

Domestic Goddess

The Kangjon Kitchen from MudHoney is fun to play with. It is rather primmy but I think it is worth it for the detail. Please forgive the rough textures pretending to be a kitchen, I am in my white box and just coloured the walls with whatever I found in my inventory. The chairs have  a ton of sits in them and it is easy to change with one touch. you can also sit on the work top by just clicking on the sink. This is how you find the cooking, washing etc   movements. Doors open, water runs, the stove goes on and off. If you own a house in SL then it is worth finding the 409 prims to fit this in. You get everything shown.

Wake Up Maggie

I don't think my love affair with Ivalde will ever end. Get ready for the party season in this lace and silk 50s dress called Maggie. I hope the pictures are enough, after the last blog post I don't feel like writing much more today.

Just Me.

I went for a walk with my dog this morning and had a long think over my time in Second Life and my short time on Plurk. I have tried to be myself, be honest about my thoughts and feeling while treating people as I would like them to treat me. Not sure this is what has happened. SL and Plurk is so intense that RL honesty doesn't work well on it. I need to change how I interact with most folk. Friends close to me know I do not set out to hurt folk, they know I will be truthful with them and speak my mind.
When shopping in RL it is easy to say 'omg that look nasty and badly made'. The designer never hears it and no one is hurt over it. In SL there is a massive chance that the designer will hear what you have said and so will their friends. After working hours on making something and pouring so much  into creating it is hurtful to hear bad  comments. Even if deep down they might  agree.
I only ever blog things I like, that do not mean things I don't blog I don't like, it just means I cant afford everything.
So this is a clean slate for me.
I will think more before I speak, I will try to only speak positive about things and people. If I do not like something I will keep it to myself.
I have great respect for anyone who designs in SL, big or small.
I respect people who run large shopping sims and keep them interesting and well run.
I respect people who take time to run events, the hard work put into these things  something I doubt I will ever understand unless I do it myself.
I respect bloggers who take time to put looks together, write about things, take pictures and all that stuff. So many do a better job than I ever will.

I have never set out to hurt anyone, I  do not hate anyone . I am sorry if my words have caused pain, hurt or made you angry.
We are all in SL for a reason, something brought us to this place and made us stay. Something we found here that was not  an option in our RL.

I want to grow as a person, I hope you  let me, help me and friend me in my journey. I hope that you will give me a second chance.

52 Week Colour Challenge - Week 4 Plum

Shhhhhh I don't know if I went more purple than plum for this but no one tell and I might just get away with it. I really am having the best fun with this challenge and trying to do something different each week.

I started at Slow Kitchen for this as I had seen some things when shopping for last weeks challenge. The 'Simple' knitted dress is so easy to layer with the 'Used'  sweater. Then I needed to cover up those legs a bit as I felt cold just looking at the screen . I got these socks last year  in a pack, They are called South For  Winter and from Tyranny Designs. Sadly they are not out in the store but it is a place worth visiting.  I also put on fishnet tights from Blowpop, they might cost a little extra but they are the  best on the grid and something that isn't easy to make. The hair is from Truth as if you didn't know already lol. A sweet friend of mine bought me the fat pack of this style and I love it.The shoes are from Periquita and worth getting as everything is colour change. This skin is a first for me and I think it is rather cute, it is from JeSyLiLO. The eyes are from Naive and lashes from Calla. The poses are from Reel Expression  - OK think that is everything. now for more coffee !

Little Black Dress

SySy Chapman has taken the idea of a little black dress to a new place. Mel comes in layers so it is easy to play around with and create many different looks with it.  Wear with the colour top for a soft  playful look, strapless for a sexy feel or why not put with leggings to make this more casual. Layer up with a jacket and maybe a scarf. I love it when designers make layers, we can get more creative with things. I know I didn't with this post  but I think I might just have to in the future . Watch out for it with poses sometime !

The Way She Moves

I don't think I have ever wore a gown that moves in the way Ayame from Purplemoon does. It flows with beauty and grace as I dance in it around the studio. With every twist and turn it moves in a way that I can't stop watching. The shading on the gown is stunning, the design is creative, the over all look is amazing.  The head piece comes with the gown for the dramatic, you even get the matching necklace.  The gown comes in 8 colours, 2 of which are bridal shades for those who may want to use it for their wedding. When you see the skirt for yourself you will want to dance all night and never let the music end

Snuggle Up

It is getting so cold here in RL I refuse to go out without my hat, scarf and gloves now.Seems the winter came in fast this year. Just like others in SL, RL weather can pick what we wear while in world and that is how I feel today. Brumm came to the Ivalde Sim and put snow down. We are getting ready for a big rebuild there and  the snow was the start of it.
Right away I grabbed on this set from Sway Dench.  It is called Alex, comes in a wide range of colours as you can see and is  so cosy.  Alex is a great set to accessorize with over this winter.

Meet Taylor

Taylor is the latest skin from Adam N Eve. I think this is the best Sachi has ever made and needs to stay on this track with future skins. I am showing the natural as that was the fat pack I bought.
You can see the different right away, the shading is lighter and more natural that other releases. The body is well toned but not over done. The main place I check with all skins is the hands and knees (front and back) For me the shading on Taylor is  far better than any skin Sachi has made before. The face has a 'girl next door ' look. Soft and feminine. The make ups are light and well blended. This will now be one of the main skins I wear. I bought the fat pack for 7500K and got 12 skins for that. Each comes with its own manicure and pedicure either on its one or together on a tattoo layer. It has a boobs option, comes shaved or unshaven and has light or dark brows.
If this is a brand you didn't like before and never bother with skin released from it I urge you to go and demo. It really is a beautiful skin.

KHUSH Collection

Skyla Dress
I love KHUSH and this is why. All the things from it are so easy to mix and match, either from KHUSH or other places. You can be as daring as you want or layer it for a more casual feel. The texture are well made, the work is honest and the prices are good. This is just a quick post with some of the latest things they released. It is a store worth visiting even if it is to just add a few layers  to your inventory.

52 Week Colour Challenge - Week 3 Golderod

I had made this above picture while thinking 'I hope I got this weeks colour right'. BUT!!! I signed in today to post and see Luna had used the same jacket and now it looks like I copied so the picture is now 'OMG'
At first I thought this would be hard until I started looking around. I like this look, comfortable yet smart. The skirt is part of a set in the Ivalde discount store. At only 100L it is a bargain and the blouse is so pretty.
The shoes I think most of us have them as they came via the Shiny Things subscribo . The top I have had for a while now, it is from Naive. I love this top. The jacket is from S@BBiA. This store is so cute and the prices are low. It is part of a gift so you just need to join the group then go to the store to get it. I tried to show the detail of the lining, I wish I had this jacket in RL. So this is my Goldenrod look, now to start the hunt for next weeks challenge

Ballerina

Avenir is new to me. I found this store while on the hunt clothes the next 52week colour challenge (see other blog posts about this).  Vouloir Dress  is a nice example of designs you will find when you visit the store. With 2 skirt styles, you can decide to buy either one. The colour used for this is striking and brave. Simple clean lines with beautiful shading and the tie detail on the back  creates a beautiful, wearable dress. This also comes with a re size option which is so important. While the store is small it is a place I will keep an eye on.
While trying this on at my friends studio she happened to sign into SL. I used this as a wonderful opportunity to get her to take a picture as she is just amazing  - so the picture below is by the amazing Kymsara Rayna. If you ever need  great pictures taken IM her, her prices are low and her work  first class.

Other things in the pictures - Huicy (shoes) LeLutka (skin and hair) Sway (poses) , not sure which pose Kym used on me though.

Australian Summer

You might be thinking I have gone mad, snow in my last post and a beach on this one. We get so used to wearing things  suited to the American/Europe seasons but some of the world is heading into summer. This post is for them .
Lucynda, from Ivalde,  is a pretty strapless dress in a soft floral print. Think Australia, on the beach, barbecue, friends and family. Now I most likely have this all wrong but when thinking of Australia at this time of year that is how I see it.

52 Week Colour Challenge - Week 2 Blue

I bet some folk will scroll past this picture on the feeds and think 'What the hell is she doing posting something like this so early!'  Let me tell you why. I hate Halloween, I hate the rain outside right now, I hate the dull grey days that depress me so much . As soon as I get to this stage of the year I long for snow and bright lights. I am not a Christmas nut, I just like the shininess of it all.
Sway Dench has put up with my yelling for snow for a while now. She made a snow globe and has it out on her sim early just for me to play in.
The tight, sweater, gloves and hat are all from Sways Store. I will be blogging this stuff in more detail soon but as this post is all things blue you are only seeing  the one colour right now. The pose and snowball is part of a set Sway has released and again I will  show this of much more in an other post.

For The Dramatic Touch

Everything Clio makes is amazing, Christine is no exception. There is just enough material over the chest to cover up as it sweeps up over one shoulder and down the back. The skirt is full and flowing, detail is stunning and colour mix breathtaking.  The bustle to the side adds more drama to this already dramatic gown. Visit Clio's store and find something just a little different  to wear.

MIAO

MIAO  is the brain child of  Kesseret Steeplechase, a person I will forever  fangirl over.  Normally you get creative folk and the practical folk but this lady (and she is a true lady)  is everything rolled into one. Smarter than many of us will ever fathom, so humble  that many of us could learn from her. It is for these reason I got excited over the new releases. It had to be great, how could it not be !
I have mixed and matched the 3 new items as they work so well together. Rosie Denim Skirt, Emma Sweater and Ribbed Tights. The sweater has a sculpted attachment to make the top look more free flowing, you can leave it off to give a more fitted look. I used poses with movement so you could see how well the skirt sits. As for the tights, the joins  don't show and the texture gives a feeling of warmth. The textures on all of these items is just beautifully done. Either wear as a block of colour or have some fun and mix it up, whatever you do just go buy them now!

What Suits Me

Karola , from L`Abel,is a classic suit with a twist. Neferia has hand drawn the textures and made a perfect job as always. The print is classic rather than high fashion. This means it will carry over from season to season and not be out of date in a matter of weeks, something that happens a lot in SL and often within days. I could talk about the shape of the jacket, the style of the skirt but all this is easy to see from from pictures. One thing I can say about Neferia Abel's designs, I have never been disappointed when I put them on. It is always better than the picture and fits beautifully.

Stand Proud

Isn't this dress so pretty. Fume has some great stuff in the store, think I can add this place to my favourites list.
The Peacock dress is so rich in colour, and fits so well. The belt is something that can be used with other outfits (saves buying a separate one) and if you put this on with black leggings its rather cute.
For me the the dress is at its best  with heels and accessories that help highlight the colours.
